Taratour is a Lebanese Tahini sauce made with only a handful of ingredients and it is so easy to make. It is traditionally served with Beef Shawarmas but for me, the best use is to elevate your roasted vegetables (especially cauliflower!) or grain based Buddha bowls to a whole new level. I have included two favourite variations that I think taste amazing but feel free to find your own variation!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 6 tablespoons water, plus more as needed
  • 1 small garlic clove, grated or pressed
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

Variation 1 –> Turmeric Ginger Tarator: Add in 1/2 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp grated ginger, 1 tsp olive oil and 1 tsp maple syrup

Variation 2 –> Roasted Beet/Carrot Tarator: Add in 1 roasted beet or carrot, 1/4 tsp ground cumin and 1/4 tsp ground coriander.

Directions

Place all the ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth. Add small amounts of water as needed until the desired consistency is reached.

*dressing lasts 5 – 7 days in the fridge
