I keep seeing quotes like this one “Do what is easy and your life will be hard. Do what is hard and your life will be easy.” by Les Brown.

It of course sounds counter intuitive at first…until you take about a second to think about it. If you do the work you reap the rewards.

If you work hard and sweat a little (or a lot..no judgement! ) your life outside the gym gets easier. You become fit enough to go out and travel, see the world. Your pants become easier to do up. Thinking becomes easier as exercise actually fertilizes your brain. Relationships are easier as you rate of depression and anxiety go down.

Saying no to your daily happy hour drink might seem hard but drinking less alcohol makes your life easier as the less you drink the lower your risk of several types of cancer.

Saying no to seconds might be hard but carrying less weight is so much easier on your joints and your heart.

Do you see what I am saying?

And so I challenge you, this September, to take a look at what you are doing that is the easy way out that is actually making your life, or your future life, harder. And then turn it around by asking what you can start to do that might seem hard, but in the end will make your life a whole lot easier.

Not sure where to start? Over the next four weeks I will be posing various challenges to you that if you aren’t doing already, I think will have a major impact on your health. They won’t be complicated but they will be foundational. Meaning, this is not meant to be a challenge you start and complete. You are meant to start and hopefully adopt, if not fully, at least partially!
