As I was writing this blog this morning I kept wanting to give you really unique and amazing recipe but I had to go back to what I would want as a reader. I see complicated recipes and I just walk away. I want recipes to be simple and no nonsense…especially when it comes to breakfast.
To me, smoothies should be super easy and so I always follow the same rule. I add about 1 cup of fruit, 1 serving of protein (typically protein powder but it could be Greek Yogurt) and 1 serving of fat (typically avocado or almond/peanut butter). I sometimes add a shot of vegetables like baby spinach or frozen cauliflower if I’m feeling particularly virtuous and then enough water to cover it all and I blend it up and done! This combination of healthy carbs, quality protein and healthy fats will keep you satiated for hours and has enough nutrients to feed your brain and your body to keep your energy levels high!

1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (or almond flavoring instead)
