How to Lose Fat (and Maintain Muscle)
It’s just like if you are saving money, it doesn’t matter if you are using credit cards or cash to buy your groceries, if you are spending more than you’re making then you will be in a deficit. The same goes for weight loss, if you are overeating protein or carbs you will gain weight. You need to expend more energy (burn more calories) than you are consuming.
We’re Facing a Comfort Crisis
Putting down your screens, starting a new hobby, trying to meet new people, putting yourself out there. That’s uncomfortable. But do you know what is more uncomfortable? Loneliness and disconnection.
One more example of something that’s uncomfortable…saying no. But unless you say no to lesser goals you will never get a chance to say yes to something greater.

For example, when you pick up 60 pounds off the ground (anyone have a medium sized dog?), Newton’s Law says you have to exert 60 pounds of force on the world around you to move that thing.
The idea is you want all of that 60 pounds to be transmitted from your muscles to the ground, you DON’T want anything dissipating out your back, knees, or hips.
